- No account needed to join
- Everyone adds their own wishes
How the sign-up link works
Create the draw with a sign-up link
Name it after the team or group, set the budget and choose “Everyone joins with a link”. Make one draw per team if the club is large.
Post the link in the members' group
Members fill in their name and email and add a few wishes. Parents sign up younger members. Nobody needs an account.
Set exclusions and draw
When everyone is in, keep family members apart and click “Draw now”. Each member gets an email with the name they drew and a link to that person's wishes.
A message for the members' group chat
Change the date, the budget and the moment you hand out the gifts, then post it.
You get the sign-up link as soon as you create the draw. Fill in the date and the budget, put the link where it says [link], then copy the message.
Tips for a club draw
Clubs mix ages, families and people who only show up now and then. A few choices up front keep the draw fair.
One draw per team or group
In a large club, the youth team and the adults rarely want to buy for each other. Make a separate draw per team, section or patrol, each with its own link. The gifts then get handed out where people actually meet.
Parents sign up the younger members
A child without a phone signs up through a parent, with the child's name and the parent's email address. The drawn name goes to the parent. Each address joins once, so siblings in the same team need a second address, for example the other parent's.
Keep families and couples apart
Siblings, a parent who coaches their own child or a couple in the same choir usually prefer not to draw each other. Set an exclusion for them. Exclusions work both ways.
Pick a budget that fits every member
Members range from students to retirees. A small, fixed amount keeps it fun for everyone. Mention it in the first message, so nobody has to ask in the group.
Hand out the gifts at a regular meeting
The last practice, rehearsal or meeting before the break works best, because that's when most people show up anyway. Ask everyone to tag their gift with the recipient's name. A gift for someone who isn't there can wait for the next session.
Close sign-ups before you draw
With 30 or more members, set a firm date and close sign-ups on the settings page when it passes. One draw holds up to 100 people. Once you draw, nobody can join anymore, so wait for the last stragglers first.
